Versatile defender Juan Bernat will return to Munich after hobbling off with an ankle injury in the 31st minute of Bayern Munich’s 4-0 loss to AC Milan in the International Champions Cup on Saturday in China.
The club says that Bernat sustained ligament damage while making a tackle and needs further evaluation.
"He can't continue the Audi Summer Tour and will fly back to Munich tomorrow. He'll undergo an examination on Monday," Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti said after the match.
