Asia Tour over for Thiago

One knock too many, and Thiago Alcantara will have to rest his legs until August.

Thiago Alcantara will board a plane bound for Munich this evening, bringing his Asia tour to a premature close. The attacking midfielder originally injured his leg in Bayern Munich’s match against Hoffenheim in the Telekom Cup and was struck from the starting lineup against Bremen in the final.

Now Thiago has again taken a blow to his left calf. The resulting injury, though minor, prevents him from training with the team and rules him out of Bayern’s remaining friendly matches in Asia. Thiago will return to Bayern’s headquarters at Säbener Straße and continue his recovery there.

The club stated that Thiago will resume training with the team after they return from Asia. His participation in the Audi Cup (August 1 and 2) is not in jeopardy.
