This fixture seems rather ... familiar, doesn’t it? There’s very little to say about a prospective Bayern-Arsenal matchup. The key players are known to everyone - only Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez won’t be participating this time due to their involvement in the Confederations Cup.
The last three meetings between these two clubs have been in the Champions League - all of them ending in a 5-1 victory for the Bavarians. Now that the game is being played as part of the preseason, can we expect Arsenal’s fortunes to change? Or will it be a simple repeat of the last few encounters? Either way, it will be a good opportunity for Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti to test the readiness of his squad against familiar opponents.
It’s (sorta) Bayern time.
