It’s no secret that James Rodriguez is looking for more playing time. The 2014 World Cup darling managed only 1,180 minutes for Zinedine Zidane this past season. He did not even make the matchday squad for Real Madrid’s most recent Champions League trophy last month.
Javier Hernández Bonnet, sports director of Caracol Televisión, said in comments on the program Blu Radio that “James Rodriguez does not want to stay in Real Madrid. Things have come to a turning point; he is closer to Bayern Munich than Paris Saint-Germain.” Caracol Televisión is a Colombian television channel that holds the rights to broadcast Colombian national team matches and most of the large worldwide soccer events.
Bonnet goes so far as to claim that “an offer [from Bayern] will be materializing in the coming hours.” Ancelotti supposedly wants to reinforce Bayern's squad with Rodriguez, whom he managed previously with Madrid, where the Colombian international scored 17 goals and logged 18 assists in 46 appearances.
At this point the Rodriguez rumors are exactly that - rumors. The transfer fee for Rodriquez and his wages would be quite high, even for Bayern.
