Thiago, whose contract was set to expire at the end of the 2018/2019 season, is going to be with Die Roten for years to come. He has 8 goals and 9 assists in 39 games in all competitions this season. In his Bayern career Thiago has won the Bundesliga title three times, the DFB Cup two times, the DFL Supercup, the UEFA Supercup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Thiago’s deal:

“Thiago is one of the best and most coveted midfielders in Europe. We’re very pleased as a club to be able to secure the services of such an amazing player for the long term.”

Thiago on extending his contract with the Bavarians:

“My family and I feel at home in Munich. Everything is going well here, and I want to win a lot of trophies here with FC Bayern in the future."
