Having been responsible for Borussia Dortmund’s opener against Bayern Munich, Javi Martinez was hellbent on making up for his mistake.
Make up for it he did.
Less than ten minutes after his poor backpass led to Marco Reus’ opener, Bayern won a corner kick that led to Martinez’s game-tying header.
Watch that replay again.
Martinez was so determined to get to that ball that he had zero problems sending Mats Hummels to the ground in the process. His header was sent into the ground at Roman Bürki’s feet which are incredibly difficult for a goalkeeper to keep out.
