It’s business time.
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid kick off the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Quarterfinal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu today. It’s a complicated scenario on the particular set of results that Bayern need to advance past Los Blancos, but we know that they’re going to fight until the final whistle to achieve that result.
Ever since Jerome Boateng returned from his injury a couple of weeks ago and it looked like Bayern was returning to a full healthy squad, injuries have piled up. However, it’s beginning to look like Bayern will have a relatively healthy squad for the big match. Especially with the early reports that Mats Hummels and Boateng would be fit enough to participate in the big match.
Still, this isn’t a situation that Bayern saw themselves being in when the season started. A potential quarterfinal exit in the Champions League would be the Bavarians worst performance since the 2010-11 season when they were bounced in the Round of 16.
It’s Bayern time.
