According to SPORTBILD’s Christian Falk, Robert Lewandowski will not play in Bayern’s Champions League quarterfinals match against Real Madrid today.
Falk tweeted this breaking news moments ago:
Nach unseren Informationen fällt @lewy_official heute gegen @realmadrid definitiv aus, wird nicht im Kader sein. Gleich mehr auf @SPORTBILD

“According to our information, Robert Lewandowski will definitely not appear against Real Madrid today, will not be in the squad.”
Lewandowski suffered a shoulder injury in Bayern’s clash with Borussia Dortmund over the weekend. He practiced briefly with the team, but it now seems that the early optimism that he would be fit for Madrid has been disappointed.
Bayern have yet to confirm the news officially.
UPDATE: SPORTBILD has now published the story. According to them, since Lewandowski is still in pain, Ancelotti will not take any risk and save him for the second leg on April 18. He is expected to start Thomas Müller as striker today.
