The biggest, baddest German ever to play in the NBA, no. 41 Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks brought a game between Dallas and the LA Lakers to a standstill last night when he became just the sixth player in NBA history to score 30,000 career points.
Nowitzki is an idol among Bundesliga stars, and that includes several Bayern Munich players. This morning, Jerome Boateng took to the mic to send Nowitzki congratulations on the team’s behalf. He made the perfect Fußball Freudian slip:
Herzlichen Glückwunsch, @swish41! Eine legendäre Leistung! #Dirk30k @NBA @dallasmavs pic.twitter.com/ISflKJPJg7

Hello, Dirk! Congratulations! 30,000 points: incredible! You're a legend. Keep on going. Really awesome accomplishment. Respect from all of us, and (we wish you) more goals — another 30,000 points for you! Have fun, good luck, and enjoy your evening!
When not shooting baskets, Dirk is no stranger to the ball game you play with your feet, but he'll probably need a little more time to reach 30,000 goals. He memorably one-upped the legendary Zaza penalty kick at a benefit game in Mainz last year:

Keep on kickin', Dirk!
