We talked about it when looking at the potential lineups for the game, but the biggest thing for Bayern in this match against Arsenal is to not become a meme. Arsenal can’t win this game without scoring, at a minimum, four goals. Bayern don’t want to be known as the team that blew a 5-1 lead.
Bayern are the heavy favorites to advance to the next round of the UEFA Champions League based on their score alone. It certainly doesn’t help Arsenal that they seem to be undergoing a mini-crisis involving Alexis Sanches. With Arsene Wenger on the hot seat, again, will Arsenal even have their heads on straight for this match?
With Eintracht Frankfurt visiting the Allianz Arena this weekend in the Bundesliga, it’s likely that Carlo Ancelotti will put some rotation into his lineup. We know that Philipp Lahm isn’t playing against Arsenal, but what about the potentially-injured Douglas Costa and Manuel Neuer?
It’s Bayern time.
