Dante and family swing by the Allianz

Bayern's triple-winning center-back, now with Nice, brought the family to Munich to relive the magic

Dante Bonfim Costa swung by Munich the other day with his lovely family in tow, and naturally enough that trip included a visit to the Allianz Arena. It’s safe to say that Dante remains a BIG fan of his former club:

And here he is taking in the dizzying view from the pitch:

Definitely, I love this stadium. Thanks for everything! Much love! Servus! Hab’ i die Ehr! Grüß Gott! [These are traditional Bavarian greetings.]

Dante also spent some time catching up with at least one old friend downtown: Luiz Gustavo!

Joining Munich in the treble-winning 2012-13 season with Jupp Heynckes, Dante later struggled to adjust under Pep Guardiola. After asking for a transfer to get more playing time, he spent most of the 2015-16 season with Wolfsburg.

This past season, Dante was signed by OGC Nice in the French Ligue 1 and he has truly flourished there: Nice are in third place behind Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain and remain in striking distance of both. In a strange convergence of careers, Dante finds himself playing on the same team as the mercurial Mario Balotelli.

We might have all rolled our eyes at Pep's "1000 Dantes," but there is no denying that Dante was a good teammate. "Mia san mia!"
