After a healthy run of play in the Hinrunde, the injured version of Franck Ribery is back. Two weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in training, the winger will now miss the all important Champions League clash against Arsenal FC.
Ancelotti confirmed Ribery returned to individual training last Friday but clarified saying, “we are doing everything to get him ready for Arsenal but it's difficult. He has a chance to play against Arsenal, but we'll take no risks. When he's ready he will be back with us." Today the club confirmed that Ribery will officially be unable to play against Arsenal. The Frenchman is still undertaking individual training.
Meanwhile teammate Jerome Boateng returned to training today, taking partial part in team exercises, nearly 8 weeks after undergoing shoulder surgery. Boateng will not be available for the Arsenal match either but that was expected given he hasn’t kicked a ball in two months.
