Just when it seems he has put his injury issues behind him, Franck Ribery is back on the sidelines. Bayern Munich announced that the veteran forward suffered an injury in his right hamstring in training on Tuesday and will be unavailable the next two weeks.
Ribery, 33, collided with Mats Hummels and had to be carted off the training ground, according to Bild. He has missed 105 games since Bayern’s treble season in 2012/13, but has made 18 appearances this season, scoring twice and assisting 11 others.
Douglas Costa, who started in place of Ribery against Freiburg, is the clear replacement on the left side of attack. Kingsley Coman, who appeared off the bench in Bayern’s 2-1 win against Werder Bremen, could also soon slide in for his compatriot.
Bayern also disclosed that Coman, Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso trained individually, while Arturo Vidal and Arjen Robben participated in parts of team training.
