Three Observations: Bayern edge Werder Bremen

It was tough, but it was three points.

Right now, Thomas Müller... should not be a starter.

Let’s face it. The 2016-17 hasn’t been the best for Thomas Müller. Following a disappointingly poor performance last summer in France at Euro 2016, Müller has carried that stunningly bad form into Bayern’s season. Once Thiago Alcantara returns from his recent injury, the Spaniard should be move into the starting eleven at the expense of Müller. I like Thomas as much as anyone else, but if you’re not producing at all, you’re not producing.

David Alaba’s free kick was art.

It’s going to be relatively difficult to find a more perfectly placed free kick. When David Alaba struck the ball and it kissed the inside of the post, I screamed. Alaba placed the ball with such precision, that only a superhuman save from Felix Wiedwald would’ve kept it out of the back of the net. Other than that, Alaba must improve. Juan Bernat is nipping at his heels.

There’s only two weeks until Arsenal.

Bayern have played a rather uninspiring two matches since returning from the winter break. The club will play league matches against Schalke and Ingolstadt and a DFB Pokal match against Wolfsburg. Hopefully, Carlo Ancelotti will get the team playing a little better ahead of the Champions League.
