With a three weeks until Bayern Munich kick off the Champions League group stage against Arsenal, it’s beginning to look like the Bavarians will have a little more firepower for the contest. Thiago Alcantara was back on the training field on Tuesday, as he preps for a return.
This is the first time that Thiago was in training since he was injured during Bayern’s training camp in Doha. Today’s session was him by himself with some running and light ball work.
Thiago was one of Bayern’s best players during the first half of the season, and his injury was damper on the start of the second half of the season. His ability to convert into instant attack was invaluable for Bayern as they struggled to adjust to Carlo Ancelotti’s style of play.
Ancelotti has shown a clear preference for Thiago and Arturo Vidal in the Bayern midfield, so it’s important that the Italian has both men ready for the Champions League.
