Finally, the Bundesliga is back, and the record champions will lead the way. Bayern Munich travel to Freiburg for the league’s opening game of 2017 in what could be a very exciting match. If Bayern don’t have their heads in the game, Freiburg could be prepping an upset.
Carlo Ancelotti will have his full attacking complement available for the match, minus everyone’s favorite (Thiago) Alcantara. It’s hard to see Ancelotti going away from an attacking front four of Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, and Thomas Müller. The team is hungry for goals.
Regardless of what happens in the attack, Freiburg have a big problem heading into the match, and that problem’s name is Manuel Neuer. The world’s greatest goalkeeper is expected to have a mostly first choice defense in front of him. The big trade off is whether you would drop Mats Hummels or Javi Martinez for Jerome Boateng (Or, if you would even drop them). Other than that, the best team is ready to go and start the Bundesliga off right.
Let’s kick the new year off with a big win.
