Bayern Munich’s squad for the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League has been revealed. As expected, there are no surprises on the list. Carlo Ancelotti will have his full squad available for all games, barring any potential injuries and/or suspensions.
One of Europe’s most fearsome attacks will be on full display in the Champions League. Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa, and Kingsley Coman will all be available for the Bavarians.
All eyes will be on Renato Sanches and Mats Hummels, as the two players will make their Bayern debut in Europe this season.
Julian Green, Niklas Dorsch, Fabian Benko, Milos Pantovic, Felix Götze, Marco Friedl, Meritan Shabani, and Enrico Caruso were named to the squad as part of List B.
“What is List B?”, you ask. List B is for players “born on or after January 1, 1995” that have been eligible to play for the club for for “any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday)”. Team can name as many players as they want to List B.
The only head-scratching decision, in appearance, might be Nicolas Feldhahn and Timothy Tillman being listed in the full squad instead of List B; however, that’s because the two players do not qualify for List B. Feldhahn is too old, and Tillman hasn’t been at Bayern long enough.
