Bayern Munich beat Atletico Madrid in UEFA Youth League

Hey, a win is a win!

Bayern Munich may have lost in the big UEFA Champions League on Wednesday against Atletico Madrid, but the club’s U-19 side managed to head back to Munich with a win.

Following their 3-1 victory over Atleti, Bayern now have two straight victories in the competition and sit at the top of the group with six points. In last seasons competition, Bayern only managed to take four points in the group stage, so this is already a big improvement.

Watching those highlights, you’ll see that Bayern benefited from, quite frankly, some shockingly poor play from the Atleti goalkeeper, but they regularly put themselves in position to capitalize on his mistakes.

The schedule for the Youth League will follow that of the Champions League, so the U-19s next match is against PSV Eindhoven in Munich on October 19.
