Bayern Munich vs. Köln, 2016-17 Bundesliga: Projected Lineups

Bayern hope to bounce back against unbeaten Köln.

Following Wednesday’s disappointing loss to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, Bayern Munich return to the field on Saturday in the Bundesliga against FC Köln. Nothing will come easily for Bayern in the match, as Köln are unbeaten and have the second best defensive record in the league.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have struggled on multiple occasions this season in the league and only managed to take three points due to purely having far more talented players than the opposition. Midweek against Atleti, Bayern were up against a very talented team, and they managed to make Bayern look ordinary. Watching that game, one would think Bayern were among the top eight in Europe, not top three or four.

Köln will come to the Allianz Arena with the plan of not conceding any goals, and if any other club in the league are going to keep Bayern off the scoreboard, it certainly appears that Köln is the side to do it. Peter Stöger will have his team ready.

Regardless, Bayern will head into another two week international break after this match. It would help the club to figure out a way to take all three points before they go. However, looking good while they do it would be a huge boost to fan morale.

We asked three of our writers to predict what lineup Ancelotti will play against Köln.
