Hertha Berlin face a devastating blow to their midfield as the injury suffered by star midfielder Vladimir Darida in Sunday's match against Schalke 04 will force him to miss the upcoming match against Bayern Munich.

The 26 year old Czech international had been one of Hertha's, and the Bundesliga's, stars making 34 appearances last season and scoring seven goals while providing stability in the midfield. Hertha made the qualifying round for the Europa League this season in a surprising seventh place finish in the standings due in no small part to the strong play from Darida. Currently, Hertha has continued their rise in the Bundesliga pecking order by starting off their season with three straight wins.
Even with Darida, going into the Allianz Arena and beating a team like Bayern would have been no easy task, but with FCB's strength in the midfield, that hill now has to look even more treacherous.
