Jerome Boateng has ended his vacation early to join the rest of his teammates ahead of their final USA Tour game tomorrow vs Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old centerback, who spent his time off on the Greek island of Mykonos and the west-coast of the US, won’t feature in the game against the Galacticos, as he’s still recovering from a ruptured muscle bundle suffered against France during Germany’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of France.
While he’s still unable to do anything other than work on a stationary bike, the Bayern man believes the time away was good for him, saying “I've benefited from my vacation, physically and mentally.”
A healthy Boateng will be crucial to a successful season for Bayern, and a pairing of him and Hummels could take the team to another level defensively, paving the way for success in all three competitions Bayern are in this season.
The rest of the players currently on holiday are scheduled to meet up with their new coach, Carlo Ancelotti, and the rest of the team when they return to Säbener Street towards the end of the week.
