Robert Lewandowski bagged his second hat trick of the season on Friday evening against Werder Bremen. That gives him six after only two games! We’re tracking him on his way to 50 goals this season in all competitions (Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, UEFA Champions League).
If Bayern make the final of the Pokal and Champions League, the club will play in a total of 51 more games this season. Lewandowski only needs 44 more goals to hit the magic number, and following his stunning opening two games, that 50 goal mark looks a little more achievable.
After Lewandowski’s hat trick against Werder, I received the following message on Twitter.
@PhilMQuinn bet you're feeling cocky right now, we're only 3 matches into the season and lewandowski has already 6 goals, 44 to go.

Cocky isn’t the word. Confident is more like it. With an offense that is more focused on getting the ball to Lewandowski as the focal point, he’s going to have a few more opportunities every game to get a shot on goal.
I would like to point out, however, that Lewandowski is on track to score 153 goals this season.
Can he get 50? I think you know my answer.
