Bayern Munich will face a Bundesliga club this time around in the DFB Pokal, getting paired with FC Augsburg in the second round. The matchup will be the first time these two clubs have met in the German cup since 2013.

Bayern defeated Augsburg 2-0 away in the round of 16 of the cup three seasons ago, Arjen Robben and Thomas Müller each scored a goal. Bayern will get to play at home this time around, the first time they have done so since their victory against Werder Bremen in last season’s DFB Pokal semifinal. The second round matches will take place on October 25 and 26.

The other matches in the Pokal between Bayern and Augsburg were in 1943, when Augsburg beat Bayern 3-0 in the first round. They wouldn't meet again until the 1983-84 Cup when Bayern beat Augsburg 6-0 in the second round. Then, in the first of back-to-back years against each other in the cup, Bayern beat Augsburg 2-0 in the Round of 16 in the 2012-13 season.

The draw also paired four other Bundesliga teams together, Köln drawing Hoffenheim and Eintracht Frankfurt drawing Ingolstadt.
