It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The ball is about to rolling in massive stadiums across Germany as the Bundesliga is set to start another fantastic season. The 2016-17 season kicks off on Friday when Bayern Munich take on Werder Bremen.

Carlo Ancelotti will get his first taste of action in our favorite league when he stands on the sideline for Bayern. Winning league titles is not Ancelotti’s specialty, so fans should be hoping that the players take to heart some of the lessons learned over the last few years of Bundesliga dominance and bring them into this season, too.

However, if the DFB Pokal results of last weekend are anything to go by in the first week of Bundesliga action, Werder shouldn’t offer much resistance to Bayern. While they should improve as the season goes on, being knocked out of the Cup by Sportfreunde Lotte isn’t something that you want getting out to a lot of people.
