In recent weeks, Bayern Munich assistant coach Paul Clement has been linked to a coaching role with the England national team. It was expected that the English FA would approach Bayern about Clement focusing on Bayern during the season but joining England during the international breaks.

Rumors have been swirling (mostly in the English press) that Clement accepted the position offered to him by England, only to have Bayern tell him that he could not do both jobs.

Thankfully, we live in the world of social media, and Clement took time out of his evening to send the truth out on Twitter to the masses.

“Following recent media reports, I would like to clarify the situation with regards to a possible role with the England national team. After consultation between FC Bayern, the FA and myself,it was decided that it was in the best interests of everyone involved for me to concentrate solely on the job I have in Munich. I would like to wish success to Sam, The FA and the England team.”

Clement has been a big part of Ancelotti’s success at his last three stops before Bayern. He joined up with Ancelotti at Chelsea before following him to both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

Him focusing only on Bayern can only be good news for the Bavarians.
