Let’s hope this is nothing serious.

After 71 hard minutes in the German Supercup, Arturo Vidal limped off the field with a foot injury following a clash with Borussia Dortmund forward Adrian Ramos. When the two players went in for a tackle, Ramos stepped on Vidal’s foot injuring him.

The tackle wasn’t malicious by any means, but Ramos stepped right on the top of Vidal’s foot causing the Chilean immense pain. After coming off the field for treatment, Vidal came back onto the field only to slowly exit a few minutes later.

Vidal was one of Bayern’s bright spots throughout the match, as the midfielder came into his own more and more as Dortmund’s fast and furious start faded in the second half. His opening goal was pure effort, as he beat everyone to his own rebound to beat Roman Bürki and put Bayern on top.

After the game, he was walking around with a giant ice pack wrapped around his foot.

While these kinds of tackles happen all the time, they sometimes can break the metatarsals in the top of a player’s foot causing immense pain and several weeks of missed games. Hopefully, none of this matters for Vidal, and we’ll see him next Friday in the Cup.
