Being publicly critical of your club’s transfer policy is not something that a lot of players do. When a player like Thomas Müller speaks out, you listen. Müller wasn’t happy with Bayern Munich’s transfer policy in the last few seasons.
He had enough. It was finally time to speak out about his issues with the club’s transfer business.
No, the issue wasn’t the talent level of the players coming into Bayern. No, the issue wasn’t that too many talented players were leaving Bayern.
The problem, Müller jokingly told reporters, was that the club didn’t bring in anyone after Bastian Schweinsteiger left that could play a particular card game.
We definitely put pressure on them (management), due to the failed transfers of the last few years when one Schafkopf player after the other left the club. Now we've finally turned onto the right path.
However, Mats Hummels spent most of his formative years in Bavaria, so he knows how to play the game.
Things are back on track at Bayern Munich.
