Great news!

Bayern Munich received good news on the injury front. In Wednesday's training session at Säbener Straße, Jerome Boateng returned to the field for the first time completing his first laps of the season.

The World Cup winner came off around the hour mark of Germany’s 2-0 semifinal loss to France at the Euros. He's been on the sideline rehabilitating his injury ever since. Boateng was diagnosed with a torn right muscle bundle in his right thigh. Unfortunately, the German Super Cup match against Borussia Dortmund will come too soon for the Bayern Munich defender.

Meanwhile, Franck Ribery resumed team training on Tuesday after recovering from groin problems and could be available this Sunday for the Super Cup match.

Xabi Alonso is set to return to team training on Thursday, while Douglas Costa completed a running session on Tuesday.

Long-term absentees Arjen Robben (muscle injury), Holger Badstuber (buildup) and Renato Sanches (thigh injury) will not make the trip to Dortmund for Sunday’s German Super Cup showdown against BVB.
