2016 Summer Olympics: Bayern Munich represent in Rio

Get ready for the Summer Olympics.

Five Bayern Munich players will represent Germany at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Germans will be one of the tournament favorites, and they’ll have to solid tests in their group stage matches to prep them for the knockout rounds.

Leonie Maier, Melanie Behringer, Sara Däbritz, Simone Laudehr, and Melanie Leupolz will be wearing the Germany jersey in Brazil. The quintet will have their sites on winning their first Olympic Gold Medal.

With the United States expected to win Group G, Germany’s goal should be to win Group F as well. If they are able to match the Americans in the group stage, the earliest they would play would be the Olympic Final.

Group F: Canada, Australia, Zimbabwe, Germany

Group G: United States, New Zealand, France, Colombia
