Arjen Robben will miss the start of the new season because of a groin issue. The Bayern Munich winger suffered an adductor/groin injury during Saturday's pre-season friendly away against fifth-tier outfit SV Lippstadt.
Bayern Munich issued a statement regarding Robben’s condition on Sunday:
"FC Bayern will be without Arjen Robben for the next month and a half after the Dutch winger sustained a groin muscle injury in Saturday's friendly away to Lippstadt. The injury to the player's right leg was diagnosed after an examination conducted by the club's medical unit in Munich on Sunday. Robben will be sidelined for approximately six weeks."
A six-week of unavailability would see the Bayern Munich winger miss the DFL-Supercup match against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park and against Werder Bremen in the season opener of the Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena.
Arjen Robben made only 15 league appearances and scored 4 goals last season.
