Juventus have completed the signing of Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia on a season long loan for €3m with option to buy for an additional €17m at the end of the season. The 29-year-old Moroccan underwent a medical check on Thursday and today has been announced as a Juventus player.
"Juventus Football Club can this evening confirm that Medhi Benatia has joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Bayern Munich for a fee of €3 million, to be paid at the international transfer release," read a statement from the club.
"The agreement also provides Juventus with the option to purchase the defender on a permanent basis for a price of €17 million, to be paid over two financial years. This option must be exercised before 30 May 2017."
Benatia joined Bayern in 2014, where he won two Bundesliga titles and a German Cup. He made only 11 Bundesliga starts last season due to injury.
