Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg seems to have finally found a new home. After joining Bayern Munich in 2012, the 20-year-old midfielder has featured for Pep Guardiola but seen his minutes and prospects dwindle with the additions of Arturo Vidal, Renato Sanches, and Sebastian Rode. He has spent the better part of the past two season on loan at FC Augsburg and Schalke 04, but may now have a new permanent home.

The Danish midfielder will leave Bayern and join English Premier League side Southampton for a fee reported to be €15M. Hojbjerg’s agent Soren Lerby confirmed that negotiations between the clubs are ongoing in the Danish press, adding that more would be confirmed Sunday night and on Monday.

For Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s part, it’s hard to think of a better club than Southampton for him to join. They’ve consistently invested playing time in their youngest players and moving into a culture where he’s going to be put first would seem to be the ideal situation for a still-developing — and extremely talented — 20-year-old.
