Medhi Benatia is one step closer to joining Juventus on loan from Bayern Munich. It’s been a long process as interest in the Moroccan first appeared last March and the teams have come to an agreement on an €18M transfer.

With Benatia already having reportedly having agree to terms to join Juventus earlier this week, the teams have now come to an agreement.

In a day, a breakthrough has been made in the deal between the Bianconeri and Bayern Munich, now ongoing for a week. The key signal came from Turin, when Juve agreed to make the transfer in the form of a loan with an obligation to buy, as preferred by the Germans. - Gazetta

Under the facts of this report, Benatia would be loaned to Juventus for the 2016/2017 season on a fee and next summer would be purchased outright by the Turin-based club. This is very similar to the structure of the Xherdan Shaqiri transfer to Inter-Milan took place in January 2015 where Shaqiri joined Inter on loan for 6 months, before being purchased which was followed by his sale to Stoke City.
