While Colombia jumped out to a commanding lead in Group A -- thanks to a 0-0 draw between Paraguay and Costa Rica --, Group B is decidedly less certain. Brazil and Ecuador are the powerhouses of Group B and played to a 0-0 draw at the Rose Bowl on Saturday while Peru scored a lone goal in their win over Haiti in Seattle.
That means it's up to Mexico, Uruguay, Jamaica, and Venezuela -- Group C -- to provide the fireworks to round out the weekend. Group C: Fight.
Mexico vs Uruguay
Location: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, AZ
Time: 6:00pm local time, 8:00pm ET
After Saturday's two nil-nil draws, Mexcio against Uruguay should provide plenty of moments for the highlight reels. With two powerhouse offense combined with two defenses who oscillate between disaster and rock solid, this is the must-watch match of the day.
Players to Watch: Chicharito Hernandez and Hector Herrera. Bayern Munich fans are intimately familiar with Chicharito, who's season for Bayer Leverkusen was his career resurrection. Hector Herrera was pivotal in Porto's impressive won over Bayern Munich last season in the Champions League quaterfinals and has been linked with the club on occassion.
For Uruguay's part, their centerback partnership mirrors that of Atletico Madrid with Diego Godin and Jose Maria Gimenez. Keep an eye to see how Mexico breaks the fullbacks and what this does to their partnership as it could prove the key to how teams in Europe can break the rock solid defense of Diego Simeone's side. Also, Luiz Suarez is no longer banned from playing for Uruguay after his most recent vampiric episode, so you should watch him be incredible.
Jamiaca vs. Venzuela
Location: Soldier Field, Chicago, IL
Time: 4:00pm local time, 5:00pm ET
Players to watch: Jamaica has several standouts worth keeping an eye on. Leftback Kemar Lawrence was a surprise revelation in their 2015 Copa America appearance but he completes the list of impressive talents worth watching.
Venezuela for their part are a mish-mash of mainly second division standouts from around Europe. Keep an eye on West Bromwich Albion's Salomon Rondon and Torino's Josef Martinez who lead the line for la Vinotinto.
