Sebastian Rode may have found his new home. Multiple outlets in Germany have reported that the young Bayern Munich midfielder is close to joining Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund and Rode have already agreed to personal terms however ongoing negotiations between the clubs are holding the deal up. Bayern are seeking a €15M transfer fee while Dortmund have offered up €12M. For a player who joined Bayern on a free transfer two seasons ago, any sum is a decent piece of business for a player who has turned into team depth .
Sebastian Rode's first season at Bayern hinted at great promise, logging nearly 1500 minutes across 35 appearances and proving a vital cog of Pep Guardiola's late game strategy. However, this past season was an unfortunate one for Sebastian Rode as the arrival of Arturo Vidal pushed him far down the depth chart, limiting him to just 500 minutes and almost half the appearances of the season before.
With the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach looking to add Sebastian Rode, it's clear the young midfielder won't be lacking for European competition. It's just a matter of who's willing to get the financing to add him to their team.
