Xabi Alonso's free kick puts Bayern Munich in front against Atletico Madrid

Xabi Alonso stood in front of a free kick at the top of the Atletico Madrid penalty area with only one thing on his mind. He was going to score a goal.

The Bayern Munich midfielder told David Alaba and Franck Ribery that they needed to back off. This ball was his. He was going to score. When the referee blew the whistle, Alonso put his free kick through the wall and into the back of the Atleti net.

The goal levels the tie on aggregate 1-1 with both teams having scored a goal at home. Bayern still need another goal to go through, and a single goal from Atleti means Bayern need two more. If the current scoreline holds, the match will go into extra time.
