Pep Guardiola confirmed that Franck Ribery will be available for Bayern Munich's Champions League semifinal against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. The former France international missed last Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach due to a back injury. Guardiola revealed the injury during his press conference following Bayern's game with Borussia Mönchengladbach.
"Ribery is fit and he is one more option for us," said Guardiola. "This is good, because he is a great player."
"I am doing a lot better. I am ready for the game against Atletico,"Ribery told Kicker. "I am really looking forward to playing against them. I have to play"
Meanwhile, Bayern defender Jerome Boateng is optimistic he will be able to play against Atleti. "I was very happy to be out on the pitch again," said Boateng. "But, it's clear that I'm not yet back at the level I had before the injury. It was too early for the full 90 minutes. The pace will be much higher. If I play I'll hit the gas and give my all."
It will be interesting to see if Guardiola trusts either player to give them the start.
