In potentially concerning news for Bayern Munich, Joshua Kimmich has pulled out of the upcoming U-21 games with Germany due to "muscular issues. While the news doesn't sound too serious (or serious at all), with the luck that Bayern has had with injuries over the last two and a half seasons, you can never be too safe.
Kimmich isn't the only player pulling out of the upcoming qualifiers. Wolfsburg's Maximilian Arnold and Eintracht Frankfurt's Marc Stendera are also going to be staying with their clubs. Arnold is suffering from a calf injury, while Stendera is having adductor issues. Plus, Timo Werner is sick and might have to miss the matches.
Manager Horst Hrubesch has chosen to call up Max Christiansen from Ingolstadt and Nadiem Amiri from Hoffenheim as the replacements. This is the first time that either player has been called up to the U-21 national team.
Germany are set to face the Faroe Islands in Frankfurt and Russia in Rostov in the upcoming qualifiers. Both should be relatively easy victories for the Germans.
