Germany coach Silvia Neid, who will be leaving her throne for Steffi Jones as early as next year, has selected 16 players from the 2015 World Cup campaign for this tournament, adding also various players which replaced the unavailable players for this tournament. However, they still boast a talented squad with the likes of PSG talisman Anja Mittang, Bayern Munich's key player Melanie Behringer, Vfl Wolfsburg target player Alexandra Popp and Arsenal Ladies's latest signing, Josephine Henning. A new face will be seen between the posts as Almuth Schult will be replacing former German international and one of the best players to ever grace women's football, Nadine Angerer.
Aged 30, Melanie Behringer will be once again forming part of Germany's nucleus in the midfield as she is targeting to add another silverware on behalf of her country. Meanwhile, FCB will be also represented by young full back Leonie Maier, whose performances throughout this season have been at the highest level, consequently being rewarded with a call up from Silvia Neid, slowly becoming one of Neid's fundamental players at the back. They will be joined by 21 year old, Sara Dabritz who has been rock solid in the midfield together with Behringer this season. Despite being aged 23 and 21 years old respectively, Maier and Dabritz have already collected more than 60 caps between them, underlining how much the German Association believes in their own product.
