Bayern Munich scouting Ricardo Rodriguez ahead of summer transfer?

Will this move finally happen?

Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez has been linked to Bayern Munich for the last couple of years, but the Bavarians have yet to pull the trigger on the move. They went with Juan Bernat during the summer of 2014 and then bypassed a move last winter when his name resurfaced.

However, Bayern are still scouting Rodriguez. Michael Reschke attended Wolfsburg's match this weekend against Hoffenheim and sat with Rodriguez's agent, according to Wolfsburger Nachrichten. The new scouting is being done at the request of incoming coach Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian reportedly wanted Rodriguez back in 2012 when he was at Paris Saint-Germain but moved to Real Madrid where a new left back wasn't needed.

Rodriguez's release clause currently sits at €36 million, but if Wolfsburg fail to make the Champions League again this season, that clause drops to only €24 million. Wolfsburg are currently in 8th place, five points out of a Champions League place.

One should fully expect Bayern to be busy this summer in buying and selling players.
