Bayern Munich travel to the BayArena in North Rhine-Westphalia for the big Bundesliga clash against Bayer Leverkusen. Twenty one points separate the two sides in the table, but Bayern have a lot to fear on the day and will be hoping that a solid defensive effort keeps Leverkusen at bay.
Leverkusen are led on the front end by a strong attacking from. Stefan Kießling, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, Karim Bellarabi, and Hakan Calhanoglu are a talented threat that would cause any defensive unit pause. Chicharito and Kießling will test the limits of the Bayern defense with their abilities to stretch centerbacks and pull them out of play.
Running a makeshift defense is never something that a club wants to do, and it especially doesn't suit a Pep Guardiola side well at all. With Guardiola's high line and only one healthy centerback, Holger Badstuber (Please, insert-whatever-deity-you-believe-in-here, don't let Holger get hurt again.) will have his work cut out for him anchoring the Bayern backline.
For Bayern to win the match, the regular attacking talent must be joined with a solid defensive performance. Otherwise, Guardiola's men could be facing a long day defending the Leverkusen counter.
Once the lineups are released, this thread will be updated.
