Juventus has another player to add to an ever-growing injury list. This time it's centerback Martín Cáceres. The defender was injured in Juve's win over Genoa on Wednesday. On Thursday, he underwent a medical assessment to see the extent of the damages to his leg.
The results are in and they are terrible.
From Juventus's website:
Elsewhere, Martin Caceres underwent a series of tests to ascertain the full extent of his injury. These confirmed a torn right Achilles tendon and the player will have surgery tomorrow.
A torn Achilles is an awful injury, and Cáceres is set to miss 5-8 months according to reports. While Cáceres isn't on the same level as Giorgio Chiellini or Leonardo Bonucci, he's another body lost in the Great Injury War of 2015-16. The defensive corps of Juventus has taken a hit, and it's up to Bayern Munich to take advantage of it.
Cáceres is joined on the Juventus sideline by Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira, who are also out with injuries.
