Bayern Munich can't catch a break. Newly signed centerback Serdar Tasci was injured on Wednesday in his very first training session with the club, announced Matthias Sammer. He went into a collision headfirst and suffered a slight concussion. "It's a bit unfortunate," he admitted, adding: "He will rest for two or three days, it is not serious."
The Bavarian club suffers from a plague of injuries at centerback, with the absences of Javi Martinez (knee surgery) and Jerome Boateng (groin injury). Medhi Benatia is also rehabbing a thigh injury, leaving Bayern coach Pep Guardiola with just one fully-fit center-back in Holger Badstuber.
Bayern signed Tasci on loan on Monday for €2.5 million with an option to make the deal permanent. Tasci has been at Spartak Moscow since 2013, starting 16 of their 18 league fixtures so far this season and has prior Bundesliga experience at Stuttgart where he won the title in the 2006-07 season.
