Claudio Pizarro scored a late equalizer for Werder Bremen against Darmstadt for his seventh goal of the 2015-16 Bundesliga season. The goal rescued a point for a struggling Werder team that finds themselves in 16th place in the Bundesliga table.
Pizarro's goal was the 183rd of his Bundesliga career which moves him into sole possession of fifth place on the Bundesliga's all time leading goal scoring list. The Peruvian passed Bayer Leverkusen legend Ulf Kirsten who was sitting on 182 goals.
Considering that he's 37 years old and needs 30 more goals to reach fourth place Manfred Burgsmüller, it's basically impossible that Pizarro will move up another place in the table. It's fair to assume Burgsmüller spot in the top four is safe for at least another season.
Pizarro scored 87 goals in 9 seasons with Bayern Munich and has 96 goals in his 7 seasons with Werder Bremen.
Congratulations, Claudio!
