After leaking the transfer agreement and contract of Toni Kroos just a few days ago, Football Leaks has this time leaked the agreement between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for the transfer of Xabi Alonso. Spiegel.de published the leaked document showing that Alonso's after-tax transfer fee was €9 million. That total included performance based incentives that pushed the base transfer fee up €1.5 million from the original price of €7.5 million.
The €9 million were paid in three installments:
- €4 million at the time of the transfer
- €3.5 million by July 15, 2015
- €1.5 million if Alonso played 30 official games for the club in his first season. He ended up playing 38.
The agreement also states that similar to the Kroos transfer, the two clubs will play a pre-season friendly. This friendly shall take place at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid. The Kroos friendly is to be played this upcoming summer in Munich, with Bayern paying for all travel expenses for Madrid, but keeping the game profits for themselves. The Alonso friendly will be played in summer 2017 with Madrid paying for all of the travel expenses but retaining the profits of the friendly.
