Bayern Munich host Atletico Madrid at the Allianz Arena today in the final group stage match of the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League.

It will be interesting to see what kind of lineup Carlo Ancelotti decides to put out for the match. Does he go with his regular 4-3-3 formation or deviate to his recently used 4-2-3-1? With all of them healthy, it’s hard to see Ancelotti not putting Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, and Thomas Müller in the starting lineup together.

The Bavarians have a long home winning streak in the Champions League, including beating this very Atleti team last spring at the Allianz Arena. Losing that streak is not something Bayern will be very keen on doing, so you can expect whatever team Ancelotti puts out to go for all three points

The match, as we’ve spoken about on numerous occasions, is useless except from a “pride” and “confidence” standpoint. The positions are set for the knockout round: Atleti will finish in first and Bayern in second.

Enjoy the match.
