After recently dismissing their second manager of the season, Swansea City have their eyes set on Bayern Munich assistant coach Paul Clement. Carlo Ancelotti’s right hand man is a front runner for the job over in Wales, according to The Guardian, and is the man they want, according to ESPN.
Clement was linked with a part-time assistant job with England this summer under then-manager Sam Alardyce. However, he turned the offer down to remain with Bayern. He currently has a deal with Bayern through 2019, according to Kicker.
Three months ago, Clement interview for the Swansea job before they gave it to Bob Bradley.
Clement has been Ancelotti’s assistant at Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain, and Real Madrid before joining Bayern this summer. Last season, during Ancelotti’s hiatus from coaching, Clement was the head coach at Derby County in the English Championship before being fired in February.
If the job is offered to Clement, it’s tough to see him turning that job down. At only 44 years old, taking a managerial job in the English Premier League is a no-brainer.
