Mainz vs Bayern Munich, Bundesliga 2016-17: Match Preview

It's Friday night, and I feel all right. The party is here on the West side.

Bayern Munich travel to the west side of Germany for a Friday night Bundesliga match against Mainz. Coming off of last weekend’s big victory over Bayer Leverkusen, Carlo Ancelotti’s men are still three points off the Bundesliga lead with RB Leipzig currently setting the pace.

Ancelotti will likely have a full compliment of players at his disposal against Mainz, aside from the recovering Kingsley Coman. Arjen Robben, Arturo Vidal and Javi Martinez all made their return against Leverkusen, and Jerome Boateng was back in training on Tuesday with his eyes set on a Friday return.

Mainz have been struggling a bit this season but find themselves comfortable mid-table and only thirteen points out of first place. If they can manage to defeat Bayern on Friday, it will the second time in a row following their March victory in Munich.

The stage is set for Friday night fireworks.

Prediction: 2-1 Win

Bayern Munich injuries and suspensions: Kingsley Coman (knee)
