Bayern Munich and Real Madrid will be wearing special kits from adidas in upcoming league matches. The German sports manufacturer and Parley have partnered to create a kit made entirely from recycled ocean plastic gathered from Parley’s clean-up around the coastal areas of the Maldives.

Of course, adidas and Bayern chose Xabi Alonso as the model for the new kit, as he is well known as one of the most beautiful humans that ever lived. However, there’s extra significance in it for Alonso.

"I'm a child of the beaches of Spain, so I'm really happy to wear a shirt entirely made of recycled ocean waste,” he said. “It's a great opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the oceans.”

Bayern will wear their kit this weekend against Hoffenheim, while Real Madrid will wear their kit on November 26 against Sporting Gijon.
