Good news ahead of Hoffenheim?

Franck Ribery returned to Bayern Munich training on Thursday, just two days before the club’s big weekend match against Hoffenheim. Ribery has been out for a few weeks since picking up a muscular injury,

Does this mean that Ribery will return to the field on Saturday? Not exactly. With a healthy squad of wingers, there’s no reason for Ancelotti to rush Ribery back onto the field ahead of a two week international break.

When Ribery has been on the field for Bayern so far this season, he has been a standout player. With all four of Bayern’s wingers dancing off the field onto the injury list at different times this season, there’s been some interchanging among the players. Ribery is the currently the only one out.

It’s likely Carlo Ancelotti sticks with a combination involving Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa, Kingsley Coman, and Thomas Müller against third place Hoffenheim.

Still, Ribery is on the mend and on his way back.
